This project will replace the Beaver Street Bridge over Beaver Dam Brook. This bridge was identified in the 2013 Framingham Town Wide Bridge Inspection & Master Plan as a replacement priority within ten years. The bridge was originally built in 1922 and rebuilt in 1951. The structure exhibits severe deterioration of the concrete and has a posted weight limit.
Recently the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) created the Municipal Small Bridge Program. This grant program funds the repair and replacement of small bridges, with spans between 10’ and 20’, which are not eligible for other funding sources. The Town has applied for and received a $500,000 grant toward the design and replacement of this critical structure.
