Traffic Alert: Construction Activities for Week Ending October 31, 2014
Traffic Alerts The following is a Traffic Alert Issued by the Town of Framingham Department of Public Works for week ending October 17, 2014.
Contractors will continue working on water and sewer line replacement. Travel delays expected in Bethany Road work zone. Please seek alternate route.
Central Street Bridge Deck Repairs at Edgell Road
Contractors will continue repair work on the bridge. Two way traffic will be maintained.
Cochituate Rail Trail
MassDOT contractors will continue bike trail construction. Please use caution on the trail.
Concord Street Conduit and Sidewalks
Beginning at Route 9 and traveling south on Concord Street towards Hartford Street, contractors will be removing and resetting curbing and pouring concrete sidewalks. Moderate traffic and pedestrian impact during construction.
Concord Street Roadway Improvements (Downtown)
The contractor is anticipated to continue sidewalk saw cutting in preparation for conduit trenches. Moderate traffic and pedestrian impact during construction.
Irving Street, Herbert Street and Loring Drive Water and Sewer Improvement Project
Contractors continue the installation of new water facilities. Expect delays.
John J. Gallagher Drive Road and Sidewalk Restoration
The Framingham Department of Public Works will be paving. Moderate pedestrian and traffic impact is expected.
The Massachusetts Port Authority’s contractor, Consigli Construction, is anticipating the delivery of large scale precast pieces for the new Logan Express Parking Garage in Framingham beginning the week of October 6th through mid to late November. The deliveries are anticipated to take place prior to rush hour, however; there is a potential for delays along Route 9 eastbound.
Mellen Street and Winthrop Street
The contractor will be forming and installing driveway aprons and wheelchair access ramps on Mellen Street and Winthrop Street. Traffic will be managed utilizing a one-lane, alternating traffic pattern where necessary.
Route 9 Bridge near Country Club Lane
The MassDOT contractor will continue work involving various utilities relocating utility poles and wires on the north side of Route 9, this work should not require lane closures. Reduce speed while traveling through the construction work zone and use caution.
Salem End Road
The Framingham DPW will finish traffic markings and casting adjustments on Salem End Road between the Ashland Town Line and Badger Road. Traffic will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic pattern. Minimal traffic delays are anticipated.
In the area of 'A' Street and School Street the contractor will continue to perform curbing, sidewalk, mast arm foundation installation, and utility transfer work. Occasional moderate traffic delays are anticipated while utility work is underway. Traffic will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic pattern through the work zone. Expect delays.
Speen Street Force Main Realignment Project
Night work Sunday-Friday, October 26th-31st from 7:00 P.M. to 5:00A.M. Contractors will be installing new sewer force main near Natick line. Limited traffic impacts anticipated.
Waverly Street and Winthrop Street Intersection Sewer Realignment
The contractor will perform night work (weather permitting) Monday-Wednesday, October 27th to October 29th, from 7:00PM until 5:00A.M. Monday night work will take place at the intersection of Waverly Street and Fountain Street. Tuesday and Wednesday night work will be performed at the intersection of Waverly Street and Winthrop Streets. A one-way alternating traffic plan will be utilized in the work zone.
Water Street at Central Street
The contractor will be installing temporary traffic controls and preparing the work area for demolition of the existing retaining wall. Minor traffic impact due to shifted and reduced lanes. Use caution when traveling in the area.
Winter Street Bridge over CSX
NSTAR and other utility relocations will continue in the vicinity of the bridge. This work is anticipated to have minimal impact on traffic in the area.
Police detail officers will be on site to assist in the facilitation of traffic flow and to assist with emergency response. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Thank you.
