Traffic Alert: Construction Activities for Week Ending October 3, 2014
The following is a Traffic Alert Issued by the Town of Framingham Department of Public Works for week ending September 26, 2014.
Contractors will continue working on water and sewer line replacement. Bethany Road will be closed to through traffic Monday-Friday 7:00AM-5:00PM. Please seek alternate route.
Central Street Bridge Deck Repairs at Edgell Road
Contractors will continue repair work on the bridge. Two way traffic will be maintained.
Cochituate Rail Trail
MassDOT contractors will continue bike trail construction. Please use caution on the trail.
Concord Street Conduit and Sidewalks
Beginning at Route 9 and traveling south on Concord Street to Hartford Street, contractors will be removing and resetting curbing. Moderate traffic and pedestrian impact during construction.
Concord Street Roadway Improvements
The contractor is anticipated to mobilize and continue performing soil borings, test pits, installation of erosion controls and install construction signage. Moderate traffic and pedestrian impact during construction.
Eaton, Chalis, Nob Hill Roadway Restoration
The Framingham DPW will finish driveway apron adjustments. Minimal delays.
Indian Head Road
The Framingham DPW will complete traffic markings and punch list items. Expect delays.
Mellen Street and Winthrop Street
The contractor will raise structures in preparation for the final paving of Mellen Street and Winthrop Street. Traffic will be managed utilizing a one-lane, alternating traffic pattern while construction is in progress. Expect delays on Mellen Street and Winthrop Street and surrounding areas.
Route 9 Bridge near Country Club Lane - Overnight Construction
The MassDOT contractor will continue to work during the overnight, overnight construction activities will involves removing the existing median and preparation to pave the median through the work zone which will have barrier to separate traffic. The left lane will be closed on Route 9 heading east and west nightly. Day work will involve various utilities relocating utility poles and wires on the north side of route 9, this work should not require lane closures. Reduce speed while travelling through the construction work zone and use caution.
Salem End Road
The Framingham DPW will continue will perform casting adjustments and roadway work in anticipation of the final paving of Salem End Road between the Ashland Town Line and Badger Road. Traffic will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic pattern and detours as necessary. Expect moderate traffic delays while travelling in this area.
Saxonville-Concord Street between 'A' Street and School Street
The contractor will continue to perform curbing , sidewalk and conduit work. NSTAR will continue to transfer the overhead wires to the new utility poles. . Traffic will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic pattern through the work zone. Expect moderate traffic delays while travelling in this area.
Waveryly Street and Winthrop Street Intersection Sewer Realignment
The contractor will mobilize and begin preconstruction survey work, installation of erosion controls and anticipated to install a 10” sewer main. This work is anticipated to have minimal impact on traffic in the area.
Winter Street Bridge over CSX
NSTAR and other utility relocations will continue in the vicinity of the bridge. This work is anticipated to have minimal impact on traffic in the area.
Police detail officers will be on site to assist in the facilitation of traffic flow and to assist with emergency response. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Thank you
