TRAFFIC ALERT: Construction Activities for Week Ending July 25, 2014
The following is a Traffic Alert Issued by the Town of Framingham Department of Public Works for week ending July 25, 2014.
Annual Road Program – Indian Head Road
The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue to make drainage improvements, do survey work and reset curbing. Expect minimal traffic delays.
Annual Road Program – Potter Road Area
The Department of Public Works Highway Division will finish paving sidewalks and pour concrete ADA ramps. Catch basins and manholes will be raised in preparation for finish paving. Expect delays while traveling in this area.
Annual Road Program – Surface Treatment Program
The Department of Public Works Highway Division will perform road surface preparation work, including removing and restoring curb work, casting adjustments, and driveway apron adjustments. Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternation traffic management plan. Use caution while traveling in this area. Expect delays.
Central St Bridge at Edgell Road
Bridge deck repair project. Signage and barriers are being set up this week.Two way traffic will be maintained.
Cochituate Rail Trail
MassDOT contractors will be grading and doing underground work at the south limit-adjacent to TJX at Route 30 and Speen Street driveway.
Eaton, Chalis, Nob Hill Roadway Restoration
The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue casting work as well as removing and resetting curbing to proper grade. Use caution while traveling in this area. Expect delays.
The contractor for the Department of Public Works will place road striping and brick imprint crosswalks.Proposed nightwork. Expect delays.
Mellen Street & Winthrop Street Roadway and Sidewalk Improvements
Construction crews will begin drainage installation on Mellen St. Detours will be in place. Use caution while traveling in this area, expect delays.
Salem End Road
The Department of Public Works Highway Division will perform surveying work and tree trimming on Salem End Road and the surrounding area between Badger Road and the Ashland Town line. Use caution while traveling in this area. Expect delays.
Saxonville Intersection Improvements
Nighttime water construction 9PM-5AM on School St at Concord St. Daytime utility construction crews are anticipated to continue in the vicinity of Concord Street, School Street and “A” Street. Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternation traffic management plan. Use caution while traveling in this area, expect delays while traveling in this area.
Wickford Road Bridge
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s contractor will complete curb and sidewalk work and weather permitting apply a waterproof membrane to the bridge. The Wickford Road Bridge will continue to be detoured. It is anticipated that the bridge will reopen in late July/early August.
Winter Street Bridge over CSX
NSTAR and other utility relocations will continue in the vicinity of the bridge. Minimal traffic impact. Use caution while traveling in this area.
Police detail officers will be on site to assist in the facilitation of traffic flow and to assist with emergency response. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Thank you for your understanding and support.
